This programme concentrates on freight train operation as of 2010.

Starting with action filmed at Clapham Junction and followed by activity at many other locations including:

Wandsworth Road, Denmark Hill, Herne Hill, Eastleigh, Billingshurst, Imperial Wharf, Camden Road, Gospel Oak, Finchley Road and Frognal, Willesden Junction, Stratford, Finsbury Park, Cricklewood, Mill Hill Broadway and Swindon.

Featuring freight hauled by a variety of locomotive classes including: 37s, 47s, 57s, 59s, 60s, 66s, 67s, 73s and 90s.

Continuing on from our highly acclaimed ‘Diesels in and Around London, Part 1 – DMUs & HSTs’.

We now take a look at various freight hotspots around London including: Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Road, Denmark Hill, Kensington Olympia and Gospel Oak and many more.

Many operators haul freight including: Mendip Rail, First GBRF, DRS, Network Rail, EWS (now DBS, DB Schenker) plus Freightliner.

These operators use a variety of locomotives including: class 37s, 47s, 57s, 59s, 60s, 66s, 67s, 73s and 92s.

Outside London, Eastleigh and Swindon are covered which help to bring the story of Modern Diesel traction in London to a close.
