This programme was released in 2002 to mark fifty years since the end of London’s trams and forty years since the end of its trolleybuses.

Through a stunning selection of archive film (much in colour) this programme tells the story of the capital’s trams and trolleybuses, including their glory days and their fall from glory.

It also includes the re-introduction of the trams in Croydon.

Many great scenes feature the men and women of London Transport, plus their passengers.

Action-filled junctions such as Vauxhall, Elephant & Castle, Gardiner’s Corner, Manor House, Nag’s Head, Holloway, the Embankment and famous Kingsway Subway.
