Description

Amateur footage filmed at Barnetby in 1997.

The station at Barnetby is located close to the busy ports of Grimsby and Immingham on the north-east coast.

This results in a large volume of heavy freight movements passing throughout the day and night.

Filmed in 1997, this programme features:

Steel, iron ore, coal and oil tanker traffic hauled by classes 37, 47, 56, 58 and 60.

Also included is rare film of a Hunslet Barclay weed killing train hauled by 20902 and 20903.

They are filmed making multiple passes of the station.

An interesting mixture of locomotive liveries are seen including:

Dutch, Transrail, Mainline, EWS, Load Haul, Rail Express Systems, BR Green and Railfreight.

Load Haul liveried Class 122 DMU 55012 is seen working route learning trip through the station.

This DMU was withdrawn less than twelve months later before being stored for ten years and was subsequently preserved.
