Keighley & Worth Valley Railway 2025 Steam Gala DVD – 20th to 23rd March 2025.
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, one of the few remaining complete branch lines in the UK, is renowned for hosting its annual Steam Gala. This four-day event featured twelve steam locomotives hauling a variety of goods, passenger, and express services. Sit back and enjoy all the action from the event, along with additional footage, including footplate action from Sentinel No.7232 ‘Ann’, lifting demonstrations with the LNER 10-ton steam crane, and a photo charter with visiting locomotive LMS 3F No.16440.
Tackling the steep gradients between Keighley and Oxenhope, LMS 3F No.16440, LMS 5MT No.44871 and LMS 8F No.48305 visited for the event, joining the home fleet of steam locomotives, which included LMS 6P No. 45596 ‘Bahamas’.
Gala highlights and visiting locomotives:
LMS 3F No.16440: LMS ‘Jinty’ No. 16440 visited from the Midland Railway, marking its first visit to another heritage railway since returning to steam in December 2023. The locomotive now carries LMS lined maroon livery and can be seen hauling a variety of trains, including goods, passenger, and vintage services.
LMS 8F No.48305: Built in 1941 at Crewe, LMS 8F No.48305 visited from the Great Central Railway. Throughout the weekend, the locomotive hauled a variety of services, including goods and passenger trains.
Sentinel No.7232 ‘Ann’ and Avonside 1973 ‘Dora’: Having arrived at the railway earlier this year, both locomotives debuted at the 2025 Steam Gala, operating brake van rides and shuttle services. Bonus footage includes scenes from the footplate of Sentinel No. 7232 ‘Ann’ double-heading with ‘Dora’ on a shuttle service from Keighley to Ingrow West.
The Home Fleet of Locomotives: The event also featured multiple locomotives from the home fleet, including BR 2F No.52044, BR 2MT No.78022, BR 4MT No.75078, LMS 2MT No.41241, Taff O2 No.85, LNWR ‘Coal Tank’ No.1054, and LMS 6P No.45596 ‘Bahamas’.
Footage from all four days of the event is included, featuring a wide collection of shots carefully selected from various locations along the 5-mile branch line. Lineside footage, not accessible to the general public, is incorporated throughout the product. The footage showcases a diverse range of scenes including early morning shed scenes, goods, express, passenger, and night scenes.

LNER Grafton Steam Crane: Watch a series of lifting demonstrations featuring the 10-ton steam crane in Oakworth Yard. Enjoy multiple angles, including drone footage and cameras mounted on the crane, with views from inside the cab.
