Class 86, 87, 90, 92, electrics and Class 37, 57, 66, 67 diesel haulage is included on all the major workings.

Carlisle in 2004: With Class 37s on workings to Leeds and Scotland and the end of Virgin loco haulage.

Carlisle in the 1990s: With Class 56, 47, 37, 87, 86 and 60 haulage.

Carlisle in the 1980s: With a wide range of workings in and around the station on passenger and freight.
