1968 – Steam’s Final Year: Steam action around the Peak Forest, in Manchester and Preston at the start of the final year.
The Steam Sheds: Lostock Hall, Patricroft, Bolton, Carnforth and Rose Grove shed in their last days.
The Last Railtours: Specials in the North West.
The Last Month: Freight traffic and the specials of the 4th August 1968.
The Last Steam Train: Black 5s and 70013 ‘Oliver Cromwell’ on the famous run from Liverpool to Carlisle via the Settle & Carlisle.
Steam Survivors: 8F 48773 and the Black 5s which escaped the scrapheap, with film from the last days in traffic.
