Description

Len’s Legacy Dvd – Len Crane – A Black Country Steam Engineer, The Story of Road Steam Restoration & Preservation.

The continuing story of Len Crane and his engines.

Whilst filming this follow on of Len and his engines, sadly he passed away.

This is the follow up to our first dvd about Len Crane which primarily looked at how he acquired, restored and used his engines.

In this programme we follow his engines and those that crew them to events big and small.

Len’s Legacy is all about how ‘Endurance’ the showman’s engine and his B6 Fowler crane engine are used and still shown by Jane and those that worked with him.

Although Len passed away in January 2015 his engines and what he did with them live on in the hands of those who had always worked with him.

This is Len’s Legacy!

With a running time of ninety minutes we see Len and his engines at the last few events that he was able to attend and then continue to follow the engines even though he is no longer with us.

Attending events big and small, from the Shrewsbury and Welland to local events in the Black Country and on to the ‘Great Dorset’, where in the hands of ‘Team Crane’ the Fowler Super Lion once again joins the heavy haulage engines as the move seriously heavy loads around the arena and on up the hill!

This therefore became a look at what the engines are now doing in the hands of ‘Team Crane’, the dedicated group of friends and volunteers who now take them to shows and events.

It also looks back to see the influence Len had, along with others, in getting ‘Road Steam Heavy Haulage’ established as a feature of the ‘Great Dorset Steam Fair’ and other major steam events.

Approx. 90 minutes.
