Description

Lineside action from the Great Britain X on tour.

An account of the Great Britain Railtour which ran from Saturday, 29th April to Sunday, 7th May 2017.

The nine day tour is followed from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh.

Then through the Highlands to Inverness and to the West Coast at Kyle of Lochalsh.

Next we return south to Glasgow and then return to the Highlands and Fort William.

The tour is then followed south through Cumbria and along the Welsh Marches to Bristol.

Finally we travel to the West Country before returning to London.

Black 5 45212: From Edinburgh to Perth.

K1 62005 and 45212: To Inverness.

K1 62005: To Kyle of Lochalsh.

45212 and 62005: Inverness to Glasgow.

62005: Fort William to Glasgow.

46233: Duchess of Sutherland Glasgow to Oxenholme.

Jubilee 45690 Leander: Grange over Sands to Bristol.

34046 Braunton and 46100 Royal Scot: To the West Country and return to Paddington.

In addition we include archive film and look at the locomotives in recent months to provide a comprehensive portrait of a remarkable steam tour.
