Locomotive Haulage in South Wales Past & Present.

The Class 37s have always been closely associated with South Wales.

In recent years they have worked the networks last diesel hauled passenger service to Rhymney.

In this programme we explore these workings, and in addition take a look back to the 1980s and Class 37 traction on freight and passenger traffic.

Class 37s in South Wales in the late 1980s on heavy iron ore trains and general freight duties.

Class 37s on the Rhymney services in 2005, including the green liveried 37 411 and large logo 37 425.

Class 50, Class 33, Class 47 and Class 37 haulage at work during the gala event of the 4th December 2005.

The last Class 37s along the Rhymney branch on the 10th December 2005.
