Description

This Cab Ride was recorded from the cab of a Tyne & Wear Metro Cammell overhead electric unit.

Filmed in 1995.

We begin our journey underground at St. James’ station Newcastle, and follow the yellow route to North Shields and round the circuit through Whitley Bay and back to Newcastle, Gateshead and on to South Shields.

The second journey follows the yellow and green routes to Newcastle Airport and return.

Featuring South Gosforth and Monument Station.

Fascinating historical facts from much of the route which now occupies ex-NER branch lines.
