The 6880 ‘Betton Grange’.

The Grange Class 4-6-0.

A detailed look at the GWR Grange class 4-6-0 locomotives none of which survived into the preservation and a class much missed by enthusiasts and locomotive crews alike.

But now a new build of one of them is to be constructed!

This story is about the development of the class and includes much archive film material of twenty nine individual members of the Grange class plus some others of unknown identity at work on British Railways in the 1960s.

We also show work on the new build engine up to 2007.

Finally some coverage of the very successful Llangollen Railway Steam Gala in April 2007 to support the 6880 Society in its endeavours for this very worthwhile project.
