Big Freight 13 Dvd

No.13 of the highly-acclaimed and best-selling Big Freight series is available now.

Produced in conjunction with Freightmaster – the National Railfreight Timetable – this programme features another superb feast of freight-train action, filmed country-wide in 2014/2015 and once again, looking at a huge variety of trains, locos and flows.

Colas Class 60s:

After many years in store Class 60s are being returned to the mainline for Colas.

With six locos already in service, they are now employed on the thrice-weekly Lindsey-Preston oil trains.

Various locos are featured working 6M32/6E32 on the freight-only branch to Preston Docks and other parts of the route and from late-April Colas Class 60s took over the Carlisle – Chirk log trains.

Signal boxes and Freight trains:

Barnetby is regarded as THE freight hot spot in the UK but how do the trains get there?

Big Freight 13 looks at the various freight flows on the three approach lines from Lincoln, Gainsborough and Scunthorpe and with large-scale resignalling planned for this part of Lincolnshire, all eight signal boxes located on these lines are also shown.

Freight Branches around Oxford:

A look at three freight-only lines in the Oxford area with Class 59-hauled stone trains to Appleford, Class 66s on car trains to Cowley and more 66 action to the Banbury Road stone terminal plus a look at the diverted MOD train to Bicester and a very busy day at the Calvert landfill site.

Class 68 action, Colas Class 70s, a selection of RHTT workings, footage from the WCML hot spot of Rugely Trent Valley, DBS Class 60 winter footage from Elford, DRS 37s to Ormskirk and much more.

All sections are introduced with full commentary and maps.

Filmed in 16:9 widescreen.

So much more than just train after train running past the camera!
