The only railway in the UK that features a complete branch line, the 5-mile railway runs Keighley to Oxenhope and held many events in 2011 including annual gala events, war weekends and vintage services.
In February’s steam gala there was a high presence of LMS ‘Black 5’s’.
Visiting LMS 5MT No.44871 famous for its role in the final steam hauled service under British Rail and LMS 5MT No.44767 ‘George Stephenson’.
The Gala featured a wide collection of passenger, vintage and freight services.
Also 90733, 80002, 47279, 41241, 957 and 1704.
2011 saw the end of LMS 3F No.47279, a popular engine over past ten years however the engine’s boiler ticket expired in July.
Returning to steam for the first time in 24 years was LMS 4F No.43924, ready to replace ‘Jinty’.
Both engines ran providing the sight of two Fowler engines together.
Returning 4F saw both 4F and 3F ran parallel up Keighley bank.
LMS 5MT No.45212 returning after nine years on North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
The engine ran on several occasions before withdrawal during October 2011 for overhaul.
To celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of ‘End Of Steam’ the engine was able to run trains up/down Worth Valley branch.
October 2011 saw GWR 28XX No.2807 visit the railway for first time, (normally based on Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway.
Also footage of the annual Beer and Music Festival, Santa Special services, Vintage train services and the Haworth War weekend.
