Description

The fifth part of our British Rail Remembered series has a real 1970s feel to it.

Filmed across the country there’s a feast of green and blue diesels for your viewing pleasure.

We’ve a special feature on York including:

The Western Talisman railtour from November 1976 with D1023.

The Borderman railtour from July 1977 with 44002 and 44005.

Testing of the prototype HST and early blue/grey sets.

DMUs, 40s, 45s and Deltics.

Action from the late 1980s before the wires came, with 47s in large logo and 20s, 31s and 37s in Railfreight.

We travel north of the border and a feast of blue Class 27s on passenger and freight.

Then we’re back down south with some remarkable footage of green Class 501s and ‘Oerlikon’ sets on the DC between Watford to Euston.

With a front window view on a Park Royal DMU along the mainline from Euston before electrification!

There’s a varied selection of green locos filmed in the late 1960s including arrival at Sheffield Midland with 31s and 47s.

A selection of hydraulics from down west.

47s in the Midlands and lots of green DMUs.

This programme has been compiled using original colour 8mm and 16mm cine film and comes with original sound or an authentic soundtrack.

The film is from the extensive TLP library and has never been released before. Most of the footage has never been seen before.
