Amateur footage of Diesels in action across the Midlands & North between 2000 and 2005, when the 66’s were still in the minority!

Highlights include:

Locomotives in action in the Midlands with freight, passenger (including railtours) and light engine movements featuring class 08, 20, 25, 31, 33, 37, 46, 47, 52, 55, 56, 57, 58, 60, 66, 67 and 92.

A wide range of liveries including:

BR blue, Porterbrook, Rail Express Systems, Mainline, EWS, Railfreight, Dutch, Freightliner, Virgin, Medite, Transrail, Direct Rail Services, Load Haul, Fragonset, Civil Engineers and Intercity.

A visit to a Yorkshire scrapyard in 2005 where many class 37, 47 and 56 are seen in various stages of cutting, plus the unloading of a newly arrived 47 from a low loader.

Crewe Works Open Day in 2005 ‘The Great Gathering’ featuring the most famous preserved British steam and diesel locos as well as many main line engines of the period.
