Archive Scenes from the Railways of Europe.
Swiss Journey: Film from the busy rail centres of Zurich, Interlaken, Thun and Spiez as part of a scenic journey into the Swiss mountains. Classes 450, 460, Re 4/4, Italian Pendolinos and more are featured, plus the unusual 19 kilometre rack railway through Wengen.
French Hotspot: The bustling railway network of Northern France is featured as we pay a visit to the busy main line only two hours by road from the port of Calais. The Classes BB12000, 16000, 16500, 22000 and 26000, as well as the brand new BB36000 are seen on a variety of passenger and freight traffic.
Bertrix – A Belgian Rail Centre: Soon to be electrified (in 1998) this busy railway location plays host to a variety of interesting diesel locomotives and multiple units. Classes 52, 53, 54, ands 55 are shown on a variety of workings.
Deutschland Diesels: Class 202 and 232 are seen in action on passenger and freight traffic at Grimenthal in the former East Germany.
Lines in Luxembourg: The Main line between the North of Luxembourg and Liege is in the process of electrification (in 1998). Many of the then present diesel hauled services are featured including SNCB class 55, CFL Class 1800 and CFL electric class 3600C.
Aachen: This busy German Rail Centre lies on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. Rich in variety and quantity of motive power both passenger and freight traffic are shown including SNCB Classes 27 and 55, DB Classes 101, 103, 110, 111, 151, 215 and 294.
