Description

A nostalgic look at Bradford through rare colour and black and white film sequences from the 1890s to the 1970s.

Probably more than in any other period in history, our major towns and cities have undergone considerable change. Fortunately, in the case of Bradford, much of the city’s architecture was recorded on film, together with important civic events, by skilled film makers.

This compilation of archive footage from the 1890s to the 1970s includes historic occasions such as the visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to the city in the late 1930s following the Coronation, VE Day and VJ Day celebrations, the visit by Winston Churchill following the end of the war, events marking the 700th anniversary of the Market Charter, trams and trolleybuses in the city’s streets, the visit in 1954 by Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Duke Of Edinburgh and much more.

Approx. 60 minutes.
