A complete film from the days of the London Midland and Scottish Railway looking in detail at the relaying of the junctions outside St Pancras in 1947.

Freight along the Midland Main Line showing featuring 'Garratts', 8Fs and 9Fs.

Freight around Trent Junction including WDs and Black 5s.

Steam hauled passenger services featuring 'Scots', 'Jubilees', 'Patriots', Fowler 2-6-4 tanks and a Standard 5.

The semaphores and stations of the post steam era.
