Pacific Voyage Dvd

Amateur Film.

In the mid-1950s the Orient Line commenced a Pacific Voyage from Sydney to San Francisco and back.

Later the P&O joined the Orient Line co-ordinating these voyages under the banner Orient Pacific and later P&O Orient Line.

This film was originally issued on VHS made from converted amateur cine footage.

It has now been transferred to DVD and re-edited.

There are shots of the ships at sea and on board as well as shore scenes along the way.

The ships generally called at Auckland, Suva, Honolulu, Vancouver, Long Beach and back via Honolulu again.

Later other ports such as Singapore, Manila and Hong Kong were added to the itineraries.

Ships included in this programme:

Arcadia, Iberia, Orcades, Chusam and Oronsay.

Plus other passing vessels.

Approx. 45 minutes.
