Part 4: Pre-Second World War Period

In this series of programmes we are looking at cruising during the 20th Century.

Part Four has reverted back to the 1930s, with extracts from eight films, of which over ninety percent has not been used before.

It is a fascinating portrayal of cruising in those halcyon days prior to World War Two, where the ladies dressed up to the ‘nines’ and the gentlemen changed into their whites to play deck games! Those were the days!

This film has been collected by Mick Hymans, a great friend of Joe's, who specialises in collecting film of transport from the 1920s through to the present day.

Joe Clark, was himself once a merchant seaman and now specializes in film of ocean liners and cruise ships.
