Crossing the Oceans Dvd, Part 1

Amateur Film.

A Voyage into the Past of the Great Passenger Liners.

With original cine footage - much of which has never been published before - and an informative commentary from Joe himself, the films will take you on an unforgettable voyage back in time.

All the footage in his films was originally taken by amateurs - often crew members - on 8mm or 16mm cine cameras.

Hence the quality is sometimes variable.

Nevertheless the films are an authentic record of how it actually was - rather than how the shipping companies would like to portray it in publicity films.

Over the past two decades, Joe Clark has assembled a unique collection of amateur film of these liners in their heyday.

These films have now been made available for the public to enjoy in a three part series titled ‘Crossing the Oceans’.

Now digitally remastered, these films will bring back happy memories for those lucky enough to have sailed on these magnificent ships.

Watch as they sail into and out of the many ports on their voyages and enjoy the many scenes of life on board.

Throughout the twentieth century, great ocean liners have carried their passengers and crew to all corners of the globe.

Whether transporting families to new lives in the southern hemisphere or cruising in the Mediterranean Sea, these great ships were synonymous with comfort and style.

Names such as Oriana, Himalaya and Canberra reflected the proud heritage of the shipping lines whose fleets spanned the globe.
